FAQ

What is Night Shift?

Night Shift is a collaborative design and development program. Every week, participants get together at Skookum HQ in Charlotte, North Carolina to learn, hack, teach and build amazing digital applications for real clients.

How does Night Shift work?

Night Shift meets weekly on Monday evenings between 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Each week focuses on a particular topic and consists of 3 sections. A lecture by an industry expert, a team activity and a homework assignment. Aside from learning, you can also expect to network with like minded professionals, drink plenty of alcohol and make long lasting friendships with smart, talented individuals.

Who should pull the Night Shift

Night Shift is designed for people new to the industry, as well as experienced professionals looking to sharpen their skills. Experienced professionals will have the opportunity to mentor team members, while those newer to the industry can benefit from hands on 1:1 education within their team.

DISCLAIMER: Night Shift is a 10 week program so requires FULL COMMITMENT by every team member. Every week your team will rely on you for in person updates along with remote work. On average, Night Shift will require 4-5 hours per week.

What do I need?

At Night Shift, you’ll be building a digital product from start to finish. This means that owning your own laptop or at least having consistent access to one is critical. You should bring your laptop to every Night Shift meeting.

Night Shift is 10 weeks long, so you’ll also need consistent time and commitment to your teammates so that everyone gets the most they can out of the program.
